On this forum, the answer is no. Actually, they simply stay on the Earth, however they live in a state of limbo, in a separate plain of existence, where the dead actually live in their own society. They live the rest of their eternity in a place not so different from the world of the living, except for the monsters that creep around that feed on the souls of the dead. Afterlife isn't exactly a walk in the park, souls live in fear of not only the monsters outside the walls of their city, but also of Reapers; Souls who have reached Decomposition Level Two and have been gifted power over other souls because of that.
